Advanced metering techniques

Abstract: PrefaceThe goal of the U.S. Department of Energy Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) is to facilitate energy-efficiency improvements at federal facilities. This is accomplished by a balanced program of technology development, facility assessment, and use of cost-sharing procurement mechanisms. Technology development focuses upon the tools and procedures used "to identify and evaluate efficiency improvements. For facility assessment, FEMP provides metering equipment and trained analysts to federal agenci… Show more

“…If K(u, n) is positive at some point in a configuration space, the geodesic deviation n µ becomes exponentially unstable there. The "averaged" value of K(u, n) coincides with the scalar curvature R [17]. This indicates that a positive scalar curvature may correspond to a locally unstable geodesic.…”

“…It would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for consumers to adjust their spending habits without knowing the cost of individual items. Advanced Metering Technique [25] records the total energy consumption of houses in real time. This gives us an opportunity to perform energy disaggregation which is the task of decomposing the entire energy consumption of a house into appliance level energy consumption.…”
