Advanced Applications and Challenges of Electropolymerized Conjugated Microporous Polymer Films

Abstract: Conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) are a unique class of porous materials that have an integrated π‐conjugated system and permanent intrinsic porosity. They are of great interest because of their outstanding performance in gas sorption, photoredox catalysis, energy storage, organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs), and sensing applications. However, conventional chemically synthesized CMPs are solid powders and have poor solubility, which makes it difficult to process and integrate devices, and has become a b… Show more

“…[33,34] They also exhibit high chemical stability due to the rigid conjugated backbone structure. [35,36] They are ideal candidates to form effective heterojunctions with photoanode materials and, at the same time, prevent photocorrosion. In this study, we demonstrate that conformably depositing a layer of conjugated polycarbazole framework (CPF-TCzB) with 10 nm thickness on the surface of Sb 2 S 3 (200 nm thick) can afford a transparent photoanode (CPF-TCzB/Sb 2 S 3 ).…”

“…Conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs), 117,118 which serve as a strong candidate for addressing the growing environmental and energy related concerns, have been extensively probed for various applications. As a consequence of the widespread pconjugation throughout the polymer skeleton, outstanding physico-chemical stability, highly porous nature along with increased surface area, CMPs have emerged as prospective highenergy storage materials.…”

“…Therefore, CMPs displayed high capacity and long-term cycling stability when they were applied as material electrodes in electrochemical energy storage applications [ 56 , 57 , 58 , 59 , 60 ]. Hence, they are considered as one of the ideal candidates for catalysis, gas storage, and electrochemical energy storage [ 61 , 62 , 63 , 64 ].…”
