Abstract:This research investigates the adsorption efficiency of a chitosan-bentonite (Ch–B) composite in removing methyl orange (MO), a common textile dye, from aqueous solutions. The study integrates experimental and theoretical analyses, employing density functional theory (DFT) to gain insights into the molecular interactions between the composite material and MO molecules. The Ch–B composite was characterized using various techniques, including FT-IR spectroscopy, XRD, and SEM–EDX. The experimental results indicat… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
