Adsorption of Remazol Brilliant Violet-5R Textile Dye from Aqueous Solutions by Using Eggshell Waste Biosorbent

Abstract: Based on the well-known excellent adsorbent ability of chicken eggshells, the adsorptive capacity and mechanism of Remazol Brilliant Violet-5R (RBV-5R) dye by eggshell was investigated. Exploiting the high surface-area-to-volume ratio and porous structure of this natural adsorbent, the developed procedure showed to be useful for the efficient adsorption of RBV-5R dye from contaminated water. The protocol was thoroughly optimized by investigating the effect of the dye concentration, biomasscontaminated water ra… Show more

“…S2, supplementary material), which shows the occurrence of Zn in ZnO@ACP, but Influencing parameters. Several factors such as solution temperature, pH, time, and dye concentration are known to influence significantly the uptake of dyes on adsorbents 33 . The effect of solution pH on the uptake of CEB onto ACP and ZnO@ACP is shown in Fig.…”

“…The effect of dye on seedling growth was studied using the Hungarian standard testing method MSZ21978/8-85 [26]. This method was used in previous research, where the effects of four indicator dyes on lettuce seed within the concentration range of 10-1000 mg/L were examined [27,28]. During the experiment, the effect of EBT at different concentrations, C i = 50-500 mg/L, on lettuce (Lactuca sativa) was studied.…”

“…Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) data were obtained using a JASCO 615 FTIR spectrophotometer (Cluj-Napoca, Romania) in the wavelength range of 500 to 4000 cm −1 , in order to determine the functional groups of EBT [28,33]. After measurements, specific bands that represent the functional groups of the dye molecule appeared.…”
