ADSORPTION OF CO2ON MICRO AND MESOPOROUS MOLECULAR SIEVES

Abstract: ADSORPTION OF CO 2 ON MICRO AND MESOPOROUS MOLECULAR SIEVES. Microporous molecular sieves of type Y, Beta, ZSM-5, ZSM-12 and ZSM-35, and mesoporous molecular sieves of type MCM-41 and MCM-48, and these sieves modified with triethanolamine and ethylenediamine were obtained and characterized by XRD, FTIR, TGA and nitrogen adsorption. The adsorption tests were performed by the gravimetric method under a stream of CO 2 at ambient temperature and pressure. The adsorbents studied showed maximum adsorption capacity o… Show more

“…The synthesized zeolites can be used for the adsorption of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) to mitigate the environmental impacts caused by greenhouse gas emissions [20][21][22][23][24]. The wide application of zeolites for CO 2 adsorption is enabled due to larger pore cavities compared to the molecular diameter of carbon dioxide [25][26][27][28][29]. The aim of the present work is to compare and diagnose the additions of an external source of aluminium (ESA) for synthesis of zeolite from RHA.…”

“…After that study, a wide variety of solids, especially mesoporous silicas, were used for the capture and separation of CO 2 [12][13][14][15][16][17] and synthesized by the hydrothermal method [18,19]. For adsorption tests, the gravimetric method has been widely used in the literature and consists of measuring the adsorbent mass as the adsorption phenomenon occurs [20][21][22][23][24].Therefore, this research has aimed to synthesize a CO 2 adsorbent material from bimodal silica via the hydrothermal method to obtain an adsorbent silica with an ordered structure of the meso-macroporous type. After synthesis, this material was characterized to present the textural properties of the bimodal silica.…”
