Adsorption Extraction of Chromium Ions (III) with the Help of Bentonite Clays

Abstract: This work is dedicated to the development of scientific technologies of wastewater purification of different industrial enterprises from chrome ions through adsorption with the help of bentonite from Cherkasy field under dynamic conditions. The prospects and efficacy of bentonite clays application for wastewater purification are confirmed by their advantages over other sorbents, that is: they win in accessibility, cost, and possibility of regeneration and multiple applications. The level of wastewater purifica… Show more

“…In turn, Mendrycka and Stawarz (2012) report that water consumption in plants can be as high as 40-60 m 3 per tonne of raw hides. The level of pollution and volume of wastewater depends on the tannery's rhythm of operation, the type of leather processed, the technology and mainly the preparation and tanning processes (Malovanyy et al, 2020). The aim is to reduce water consumption and reuse baths in the cycle with the use of pro-ecological technologies (Rüffer & Rosenwinkel, 1998).…”

“…Foregoing studies allow stating [2] that the use of sorption methods is most effective at an initial content of chromium ions of 1-1.5 g/dm 3 . That is, preliminary wastewater treatment is advisable, which includes the stage of sedimentation, filtration and reagent sedimentation with lime followed by the subsequent removal of the formed sediment [4].…”

“…Significant anthropogenic pressure is exerted on water resources, the atmosphere, and soils. This requires the need to apply advanced technologies for municipal wastewater treatment (Malovanyy et al, 2016;Shmandiy et al, 2017), disposal of household and industrial waste (Tymchuk et al, 2020;Voytovych et al, 2020), treatment of hazardous industrial effluents (Malovanyy et al, 2019;Malovanyy et al, 2020), protection of the atmosphere (Lazaruk et al, 2020;Vaskina et al, 2020). But soil contamination in urbanized areas is of particular concern.…”
