“…However, mild temperature conditions can also be efficient for regeneration of more delicate materials, like hydrogels. It has been reported that the use of thermal regeneration a thermo-magneto-responsive poly( N -isopropylacrylamide)- co -acrylic acid composite loaded with Cr 3+ reached complete desorption at 50 °C . According to the authors, desorption in this composite system was largely attributed to the enthalpy-driven dissociation of hydrated Cr 3+ from the hydrogel surface once the medium cooled to room temperature.…”

“…As the temperature changes, Cr 3+ ions in the PNIPAM matrix remain unaffected by the swelling–shrinking behavior of the hydrogel. The adsorption of Cr 3+ can mainly be attributed to the precipitation of Cr 3+ hydroxy species on the hydrogel surface bound by the carboxylates (−COO – ) of the AA moiety and amides to form metal–ligand surface complexes . Further separation and removal of chromium were then conducted under the influence of a low-gradient magnetic field.…”

“…At present, some simple methods have been proposed to prepare high‐performance hydrogels with multiple responses 11‐14 . Poly( N ‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) is a unique temperature‐responsive hydrogel, the typical temperature‐sensitive hydrogel has been extensively studied for its reversible temperature response 15‐18 . The temperature response property contrary to the normal phenomenon makes the intelligent hydrogel have great application potential.…”
