AdS3 solutions in massive IIA, defect CFTs and T-duality

Abstract: We establish a map between AdS 3 ×S 2 and AdS 7 solutions to massive IIA supergravity that allows one to interpret the former as holographic duals to D2-D4 defects inside 6d (1,0) CFTs. This relation singles out in a particular manner the AdS 3 ×S 2 solution constructed from AdS 3 ×S 3 ×CY 2 through non-Abelian T-duality, with respect to a freely acting SU(2). We find explicit global completions to this solution and provide well-defined (0,4) 2d dual CFTs associated to them. These completions consist of linear… Show more

“…From all the possibilities to end the space we focus on solutions whose last interval's functions are given by (2.13). The non-compact solution withĥ 4 ∼ h 8 ∼ u ∼ ρ all over the space will be discussed in detail in [50].…”

“…This strongly suggests that a similar description should be at play for the AdS 2 solution. As in similar examples in which non-Abelian T-duality has been applied to holography [83][84][85][86][87][88][89], the solution constructed through non-Abelian T-duality would not be describing the same physics as the type IIA seed solution, which would be consistent with the fact that non-Abelian T-duality has not been proved to be a string theory symmetry [90,91].…”
