AdS/CFT and Light-Front QCD

Abstract: The AdS/CFT correspondence between string theory in AdS space and conformal field theories in physical space-time leads to an analytic, semi-classical model for strongly-coupled QCD which has scale invariance and dimensional counting at short distances and color confinement at large distances. The AdS/CFT correspondence also provides insights into the inherently nonperturbative aspects of QCD such as the orbital and radial spectra of hadrons and the form of hadronic wavefunctions. In particular, we show that t… Show more

“…Nonzero quark masses are naturally incorporated into the AdS/LF predictions by including them explicitly in the LF kinetic energy i (k 2 ⊥i + m 2 i )/x i [27,118]. Given the nonpertubative LFWFs one can predict many interesting phenomenological quantities such as heavy quark decays, generalized parton distributions and parton structure functions.…”

“…Using (4) one can readily generalize the equations to allow for the kinetic energy of massive quarks [27]. In this case, however, the longitudinal mode X (x) does not decouple from the effective LF bound-state equations.…”
