Indonesia is the country with the highest child marriage after Cambodia. In addition, West Java Province has the highest absolute number of child marriages in Indonesia (273,300 child marriages). In addition, it also ranks first nationally for out-of-school children at the elementary, junior high, and high school/vocational school levels. Health cadres do not understand their duties and roles in reducing MMR, one of which is knowledge about the impact of child marriage. This activity aims to increase the knowledge and attitudes of health cadres through health education and to empower the potential of existing communities to prevent child marriage. This activity with Preparing, Participatory Programming, Reinventing Assets, Designing, Communicating, Implementing, and Evaluating. Results: The number of cadres who participated in counseling was 25 people. The potential that exists is the presence of midwives and community leaders. Youth of as many as 450 people, 20 children who dropped out of school had elementary school education, 18 had junior high school diplomas, and 4 cases of early marriage. Based on the SWOT analysis, Pondok Rajeg Kelurahan is in quadrant II which requires strategic diversification. Evaluation of activities revealed from the results of the Willcoxon test that there was an effect of health education using early marriage flyers on knowledge p-value = 0.002 (p-value <0.05) and attitude p-value = 0.002 (p-value <0.05 ). Health cadres understand one of their roles and duties from the influence of leaflets on increasing knowledge and positive changes in cadre attitudes to address the problem of early marriage. In addition, their commitment to implementing early marriage prevention and its impact.

Background: Education is known to protect adolescent girls from unplanned pregnancy. School closures were component of COVID-19 “lockdown measures”. The impact of these measures on adolescent pregnancy worldwideis unknown. Methods: We performed a systematic review to find evidence of the impact of “lockdowns” and school closures on adolescent pregnancy events during the COVID-19 pandemic. Databases including Pubmed, EMBASE, CINAHL, WHO Index Medicus, and Literatura Latinoamericana y Caribe en Ciencias de la Salud (LILACS) were searched. Studies that provided data on pregnancy rates in girls aged 10-19 before, during, and after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic (defined as March 2020) were eligible for inclusion. Extracted data included study design, study location, age of participants, exposure period, and percentage or pregnancy rate data. Findings: On August 21st, 2023, 3049 studies were screened, with 79 eligible for full-text review. Ten studies were included in the final review: Seven performed in Africa (Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, and Ethiopia), and three in the Americas (USA and Brazil). Adolescent pregnancy increased in six out of the seven African studies while a decrease or no change was noted in USA and Brazil.All studies were at a high risk of bias. Interpretation: Adolescent pregnancy rates during the COVID-19 pandemic may have substantially increased in sub-Saharan Africa. Data scarcity and low-quality evidence are significant limitations. The dynamic relationship between lockdown measures and adolescent pregnancies warrants ongoing multifaceted research and adaptive policies to safeguard adolescent sexual and reproductive health during health crisis. Adolescent childbirth (ages 15-19) is a global issue that can result in morbidity and mortality among adolescents. The rate of adolescent childbirth is of particular concern to the Indonesian government as it has not yet reached the desired targets. The aim of this research is to analyze the socio-economic factors influencing adolescent childbirth (ages 15-19) in Indonesia based on data from the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS). This study utilizes secondary data from the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey, with a sample size of 7,930 adolescents. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate descriptive statistical methods. Adolescent childbirth in Indonesia among ages 15-19 is observed in 416 adolescents (5.2%). Based on multivariate analysis, it was found that variables significantly associated with adolescent childbirth are educational level and economic status. Adolescents with low education are 27 times more likely to experience childbirth (aOR: 27.756; 95% CI: 12.007 - 64.163) compared to those with higher education. Furthermore, adolescents with the lowest economic status have a 2 times higher risk (aOR: 2.644; 95% CI: 2.014 - 3.470) of experiencing adolescent childbirth compared to those with the highest economic status. Adolescent childbirth is a health issue that warrants attention in Indonesia. Enhancing education, empowerment, awareness, and support for adolescent girls, along with policy implementation, is crucial for reducing the adolescent childbirth rate.
