Background:The corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has caused devastating effects by spreading rapidly throughout society worldwide since it was identified at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan City, China. Aim of the study: was to assess effect of COVID-19 pandemic on knowledge and anxiety level Among nursing internship students. Subjects and Methods: Research design: A descriptive design was used to conduct this study and to achieve the aim of this study. Setting: The study was carried out at Technical Institute of Nursing in Zagazig University. Subjects: A convenience sample of all available internship students (618 students) at the technical institute of nursing in Zagazig University. Tools of data collection: Two tools were used for data collection. Tool I: Structured Interviewing Questionnaire, It was composed of 2 parts, General Characteristics of the nursing internship students, Self-administered Knowledge questionnaire. Tool II: Hamilton Anxiety scale. Results: 37.9% of the studied subjects had fair knowledge regarding COVID -19. In addition, 54.9% of the studied subjects had moderate anxiety level. On the other hand, knowledge score was inversely correlated with the Hamilton anxiety score (r=-0.122, p=0.005) .Conclusion: More than one third of studied subjects had fair knowledge regarding COVID -19. As well, more than half of them had moderate anxiety level. Recommendations: Continuous campaigns are required for nurses to prevent and control COVID-19 successfully with illustrated booklets for maintaining knowledge, emphasis should also be placed on training and retraining health professionals in the correct hand washing steps as well as media awareness campaigns on this disease.

This study aims to identification of phytochemical profile of Apis mellifera propolis and explore potential of its anti‐diabetic activity through inhibition on α‐amylase (α‐AE), α‐glucosidase(α‐GE) and finally identified the novel antidiabetic compounds from propolis. Apis mellifera propolis extract (AMPE) exhibited elevated polyphenol 33.26 ± 0.17 (mg GAE/g) and flavonoid (15.45 ± 0.13 mg RE/g), while its also indicated moderate strong antioxidant activity (EC50 793.09 ±1.94 µg/ml). This study found that AMPE displayed promising α‐AE and α‐GE inhibition through in vitro study. Based on LC‐MS/MS screening, 18 unique AMPE compounds were identified, majorly belonging to anthraquinone and flavonoid compounds. In silico study determined that 8 compounds of AMPE compounds exhibited strong binding to α‐AE, interacting to catalytic residue of ASP197. Moreover, 2 compounds exhibit potential inhibition of α‐AG, by interacting to crucial amino acids of ARG315, ASP352, and ASP69. Finally, we suggested 2,7‐Dihydroxy‐1‐(p‐hydroxybenzyl)‐4‐methoxy‐9,10‐dihydrophenanthrene and 3(3‐(3,4‐Dihydroxybenzyl)‐7‐hydroxychroman‐4‐one as novel inhibitors of α‐AE and α‐GE. Notably, these compounds were initially discovered in Apis mellifera propolis, and molecular dynamic analysis confirmed their stable binding with both enzymes over 100 ns simulations. In vivo acute toxicity test reveals AMPE as a practically non‐toxic product with LD50 value of 16050mg/kg.

Introduction: The nose is an attraction point in our face and one of the important sense organs of our body. The knowledge of the type of nose is essential for surgeons undertaking esthetic repair and reconstruction of noses The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of the mesorhine type of nose among medical students of a medical college. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was done among medical students of medical college after obtaining ethical approval from the Institutional Review Committee. Students of age groups 16-25 years from different religions with various castes/ethnicities were included. Those with craniofacial abnormalities, nasal deviation and a history of nasal trauma were excluded. All the nasal parameters were measured with the help of vernier’s calliper and the nasal index was calculated. Convenience sampling method was used. The point estimate was calculated at a 95% Confidence Interval. Results: Among 215 medical students, the prevalence of mesorrhine type of nose was 130 (60.46%) (53.92-67, 95% Confidence Interval). Conclusions: The prevalence of mesorrhine type of nose among medical students was similar to other studies done in similar settings.
