Abstract: Alzheimer's disease (AD) and heavy alcohol use are widely prevalent and lead to brain pathology. Both alcohol-related brain damage (ARBD) and AD result in cholinergic dysfunction, impaired hippocampal neurogenesis and the emergence of hippocampal-dependent cognitive impairments.
