Abstract:Background: Admission hyperglycemia is defined as any blood glucose level greater than 140mg/dl (>7.8mmol/l) in Critical Care Unit according to American Diabetes Association 2015. Stress hyperglycemia is related to multiple causes as inflammatory and neuro-endocrine derangements in critically ill patients, which lead to insulin resistance and high hepatic glucose output.
