Abstract:mass balance models in wastewater treatment may overpredict the organic matter degradation in aerated basins, because the simulation tools apply simplified reactor models, which could not represent the actual hydrodynamic and mixing conditions in the reactors. Ineffective reactor zones, short hydraulic circuits could have an effect on the actual performance of treatment process. In this paper, a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 10 mlD was investigated, where residence time distribution (rTD) analy… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
