Abstract: Sialylation, the addition of negatively charged sialic acid sugars to terminal ends of glycans, is upregulated in most cancers. Hypersialylation supports multiple pro-tumor mechanisms such as enhanced migration and invasion, resistance to apoptosis and immune evasion.
