Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efektivitas industri farmasi XYZ dalam memenuhipermintaan fasilitas kesehatan selama tahun 2023. Latar belakang penelitiandidasarkan pada kebutuhan akan perencanaan produksi vaksin yang tepat guna danefisien untuk mengatasi fluktuasi permintaan. Metode produksi melibatkan data forecastfasilitas kesehatan untuk mengarahkan rencana produksi dengan mempertimbangkanlead time yang bervariasi berdasarkan jenis vaksin. Strategi produksi untuk pemenuhanpermintaan mencapai persentase yang tinggi dengan rata-rata sebesar 92%mencerminkan kemampuan industri XYZ dalam menjaga ketersediaan vaksin secarakonsisten. Strategi perencanaan produksi yang efektif juga terlihat dalam penanganankekurangan produk dengan mengalokasikan stok dari bulan sebelumnya atau menundapengiriman ke bulan berikutnya. Kesimpulannya, industri XYZ berhasil menghadapitantangan produksi vaksin dengan baik, menunjukkan komitmen dalam memenuhikebutuhan fasilitas kesehatan dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat.

ContextThere is a global Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine shortage until 2024. The World Health Organization recommended a temporary suspension of HPV vaccination for boys until all girls who need the vaccine can get it. In the European Union (EU), practices to define and monitor HPV vaccine shortages differ between the Member States. Prior policy initiatives were insufficient to address current vaccine shortages.Policy optionsDifferent policy options are recommended, divided into three self-developed clusters: prevention, response, and supply side. The policy options for the prevention part include decentralised surveillance and centralised surveillance. The policy options for the response part include dose sparing, EU joint procurement, postponing injection for young children, postponing vaccination for boys, and prioritisation in favour of low- and middle-income countries. The policy option for the supply side part is novel procurement agreements.RecommendationsA traffic light system to assist policymakers has been developed. The traffic light system recommends when policymakers should implement the suggested policy options. The traffic light system describes four stages: Green light (shortage prevention); Amber light (imminent shortage prevention); Red light (shortage management); Shortage lessons. These recommendations will improve EU crisis management.

A recent study reported that the high-dose quadrivalent influenza vaccine provided superior immunogenicity and efficacy versus the standard-dose quadrivalent vaccine in the elderly. However, we need to view these results in terms of public health benefits as well. The Number Needed to Vaccinate (NNV) is an important tool to measure the benefit of a given vaccine. Further, NNV evaluates the benefits of a vaccine in preventing and controlling communicable diseases. Considering the target of vaccination and coverage of 75% not met in the elderly in Europe, it is important not to prioritize one vaccine over the other, but rather to increase the vaccine coverage with all the available vaccines.
