Abstract:Oscillating electric fields are present in many different kinds of plasmas and can modify the radiated line shape. An accurate characterization of their effect is difficult since they act simultaneously with the fluctuating microfield of the electrons and ions. We propose to address these simultaneous effects by a computer simulation of the plasma particles motion coupled to a numerical integration of the Schrödinger equation. We discuss here the role of ion dynamics on the effect of oscillating fields, and th… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
