Abstract:The electrochemical reduction of nitrosobenzene (PhNO) in the presence of cyclopentadiene derivatives containing the indenyl group represented as In′H 2 (10a, 10b, and 12b) gives the imine derivatives PhN=In′. The process requires only a catalytic amount of electricity. When the electrolysis of aromatic aldehydes (ArCHO), 2,6dichlorobenzaldehyde (1a), benzaldehyde (1b) and terephthalaldehyde (2), is performed in the presence of the In′H 2 derivatives, compounds ArCH=In′ are obtained in low yields. These compou… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
