Add-on integration module-based proportional-integration-derivative control for higher precision electro-optical tracking system

Abstract: This paper concerns the improvement on proportional-integration-derivative (PID) control for the electro-optical tracking system for high-mobility targets. To achieve higher tracking precision and stronger disturbance rejection while fully utilizing the existing PID loop, the add-on integration module is proposed and seamlessly integrated into the conventional PID loop. It is proven that for any given conventional PID controller parameters, the add-on integration module based PID control can improve the abilit… Show more

“…Duan and others monitored the daily energy consumption of hemiplegic patients by placing a swp2a system composed of 2 accelerometers, 1 skin electric response sensor, heat sensor, skin temperature sensor, and 1 ambient temperature sensor at the midpoint of the healthy triceps brachii. Combined with the individual conditions of the patients, such as height, body mass, and other information, the intensity of each exercise of the subjects is calculated through a unique formula, so as to achieve the purpose of monitoring the energy consumption of hemiplegic patients [8]. Yu and others used inertia and air pressure sensors to make a device similar to a wrist watch.…”

“…From equation ( 9), it can be seen that the steady-state error is zero when the PID controller tracks the step signal and ramp signal. 17 However, from equation ( 11), the steady-state error is a constant value when the PID controller tracks the parabolic signal. In many practical industrial applications, the control system is usually designed to be at least a type-I control system.…”
