Adaptive Suppression Method of LiDAR Background Noise Based on Threshold Detection

Abstract: Background radiation in the LiDAR detection field of view is complex and variable, and the background noise generated can easily cause false alarms in the receiver, which affects the effective detection of the system. Through the analysis of the influence of background radiation noise of LiDAR on the detection performance, an adaptive suppression method of LiDAR background noise is proposed. This method realizes the rapid suppression of background noise in the instantaneous field of view through an adaptive th… Show more

“…Lidar has been widely used in terrain mapping, forestry exploration, autonomous driving, military defense, and other fields due to its high resolution, strong anti-interference ability, and fast response speed [1][2][3][4]. Geiger-mode avalanche photodiode (GM-APD) laser radar can detect single-photon echo signals and remote weak signals [5][6][7][8][9]. However, due to the single-photon detection system of GM-APD, the detection cycle has detection dead time, and the acquired range image loses information.…”
