“…As far as the social impact of extension of collective memory and sense of place is concerned it is the predominant opinion of respondents that the adaptive reuse of old communist shopping malls in Kosovo would extend the collective memory and identity of the locations where these shopping malls are located and create the sense of place and sense of belonging to that place. In this regard, Wang (2015) and Conejos et al (2013) argue that adaptive reuse results in the promotion and enhancement of collective memory, whereas Rezaei (2017) thinks that adaptive reuse creates the civic pride of citizens and sense of place and sense of belonging with that place. The pattern of answers of respondents shows that architects, engineers, developers and facility managers share the proportionate view regarding the effect of adaptive reuse on the enhancement of collective memory and creation of sense of place and sense of belonging.…”
