Adaptive interconnected observer for sensorless induction motor

Abstract: An adaptive interconnected observer for induction motor (IM) drive without mechanical sensors (speed sensor and load torque sensor) is presented. The observer estimates the fluxes, the angular velocity, the load torque and the stator resistance even under or near unobservable conditions. Practical stability based on Lyapunov theory is proved to guarantee the strongly uniformly practical stability of the estimation error dynamics. A contribution of this article is the experimental validation of the observer on … Show more

“…The second approach is based on high gain design which is particularly appealing by its exponential convergence under admissible assumptions [13][14][15][16]. The intrinsic sensitivity to noise measurement of the high gain has been recently investigated using adequate time varying observer gains as well as suitable filtering actions [17][18][19].…”

“…Two basic approaches to synthesizing observers: a) The heuristic approach close to artificial intelligence (neural network) [20] [21], b) The approach based on the geometry of the machine (introduction of harmonics as functions of the speed of the machine [22] [23]. There are several categories of observers used to avoid difficulties in estimating state variables at low speed such as the extended Kalman filters [22] [24], the extended Luenberger filters [24]; adaptive observers [25]; slippery mode observers [26]; cascade observers and interconnected high gain observers [27] [28].…”

“…As EV is the 0-emission vehicle powered by vehicle battery, many researches of the EV are springing up all around the world, and EV has developed into the small-scale production for business [1][2]. The developments of EV depend on the development of a variety of sciences and techniques, especially for the dynamic performance and driving range improvements, and costs reduction [3][4][5]. In consideration of development cost and time, the establishment of simulation model can contribute to the performance analysis of EV.…”
