Adaptive control of ore mill charge

Abstract: The system of mining operations does not enable long-lasting mining of single-type ores that causes instability of mineral materials intended for concentration. To solve the problem of controlling these processes on the basis of operating data on characteristics of processed raw materials, the method of controlling mill charge is suggested considering measurements of its output product. This method is based on correlation of the output product quantity and the rate of the mill charge. The process of the object… Show more

“…Such techniques differ in breaking conditions and estimation criteria. Thus, when mining iron ore deposits, there are applied methods based on placing explosives in the massif depending on stress concentration, rock hardness, qualitative characteristics of explosives, etc [15,16,37].…”

“…To increase iron content in the muck, it is suggested to concentrate the mass at surface crushing and sizing plants. [16][17][18]. It should be considered that in terms of mineralogical composition there are 6-9 varieties of ore, each requiring special treatment.…”

“…Ingenious approaches to solving similar problems are proposed in [9] and [10]. Ore slurry dilution in ball mills has long been used, but modern automated control systems (ACSs) for all mills mainly use the simplest approach to slurry dilution, designed for open grinding cycles, which does not meet the requirements of the technological process.…”
