Abstract:SUMMARYThe interplay between estimation and control is crucial in adaptive control algorithms. Most proposed adaptive dual control methods are either too complex for practical applications or else do not rely on any stability proof. By restricting ourselves to a limited class of systems (linear time‐invariant) and a very crude dual action (single‐step optimizing input) we arrive at a very simple approach, which should be interesting for more complex situations also.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
