Adaptive and Robust Audio watermarking in Wavelet Domain

Abstract: This paper presents a robust method of audio watermarking in the wavelet domain. In this method, the watermarked data is encrypted, then combined with a synchronization code and embedded in lowfrequency coefficients of wavelet transform. In this paper two techniques of quantization are employed for data embedding process. The magnitude of quantization step and embedding strength is adaptively determined according to the characteristics of the human auditory system (HAS). Therefore data embedding distortion is … Show more

“…The second category is methods based on transform domain which are more robust than time domain methods. Some of them include methods based on Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) [25], methods based on Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) [26] and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) base methods [27] In this paper, we propose a new audio watermarking method for embedding watermark sequence into approximation coefficients 3-4 levels of DWT, by echo and FFT methods, in order to decrease audibility and increase robustness against attacks.…”

“…In [5], the authors propose a watermarking system which embeds synchronization signals in time domain to resist against several attacks. Pooyan et al [6] introduce an audio watermarking method which embeds watermarks in wavelet domain. The watermarked data is then encrypted and combined with a synchronization code and embedded into low frequency coefficients of the sound in wavelet domain.…”

“…In frequency domain watermarking, after taking one of the usual transforms such as the Discrete/Fast Fourier Transform (DFT/FFT) [5,6], the Modified Discrete Cosine Transform (MDCT) or the Wavelet Transform (WT) [9,11,17,18] from the signal, the hidden bits are embedded into the resulting transform coefficients.…”
