The connection between objects and information exchange has been possible in recent years, with the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) in different industries. We can meet different requirements in each industry utilizing this feature. Intelligent transportation uses the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) as a solution for communication among vehicles. It improves traffic management applications and services to guarantee safety on roads. We categorize services, applications, and architectures and propose a taxonomy for IoV. Then, we study open issues and challenges for future works. We highlighted applications and services due to drivers' requirements and nonfunctional requirements, considering the qualitative characteristic. This paper summarizes the current state of the IoV in architectures, services, and applications. It can be a start view to provide the solutions for challenges in traffic management in cities.The present study is beneficial for smart city developments and management.According to this paper's result, the services and applications evaluate performance with 34% frequency, safety and data accuracy, and security with a 13% frequency in selected papers. These measurements are essential due to the IoV characteristics such as real-time operation, accident avoidance in applications, and complicated user data management.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is an emerging classical model, envisioned as a system of billions of small interconnected devices for posing the state-of-the-art findings to real-world glitches. Over the last decade, there has been an increasing research concentration in the IoT as an essential design of the constant convergence between human behaviors and their images on Information Technology. With the development of technologies, the IoT drives the deployment of across-the-board and self-organizing wireless networks. The IoT model is progressing toward the notion of a cyber-physical world, where things can be originated, driven, intermixed, and modernized to facilitate the emergence of any feasible association. This paper provides a summary of the existing IoT research that underlines enabling technologies, such as fog computing, wireless sensor networks, data mining, context awareness, real-time analytics, virtual reality, and cellular communications. Also, we present the lessons learned after acquiring a thorough representation of the subject. Thus, by identifying numerous open research challenges, it is presumed to drag more consideration into this novel paradigm. Due to the recent prevalence of IoT (Internet of Things) devices, streaming data such as video data or sensor data are collected and analyzed for real-time applications. The transaction time for data collection and analysis is one of the main factors to improve performance of some real-time IoT applications. For instance, in real-time surveillance camera systems, a shorter transaction time further reduces the delay to find thieves recorded by the cameras. However, computational and communication capacities of processing computers give lower limits to transaction time. To break this limitation, we propose an efficient data collection method using a progressive quality improvement approach. In our proposed method, each data source produces some content data of those qualities are lower than the quality of the original content data such as low resolution image data. Only the cases where higher quality data are needed for analyses, the processing computer progressively collects them. Thus, by reducing the average data amount of collections and for analyses, our proposed method reduces the average transaction time. We measured the transaction time of our proposed method in our developed simulator and confirmed that our proposed method can reduce the transaction time.
