Adaptive algorithm for the control of a building air handling unit

Abstract

The use of adaptive control algorithms was studied for microprocessor driven direct digital control of elementary heating and cooling subsystems. An algorithm was designed for digital regulation of a linear, time-invariant first-order system with a system dead time.A recursive least squares algorithm was used to estimate, on-line, the parameters of the time-invariant linear system.
