Adapting the New ACRL Framework to IL Education at Tampere University of Technology

Abstract: In 2016, the Tampere University of Technology (TUT) Library adopted the new ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education to its information literacy education. ACRL encourages libraries to deploy the frames to best suit their own situation and needs and, accordingly, the TUT Library has adapted the frames to better suit the needs of its technical students and researchers. “…A apresentação de resultados relativos à aplicação da ACRL Framework tem sido, igualmente, uma constante nos anos mais recentes. Sipila, Miettinen & Tevaniemi (2019) apresentaram a sua experiência na Universidade de Tampere (Finlândia), demonstrando a adaptação dos bibliotecários a esta nova ferramenta pedagógica, bem como a resposta dos estudantes nas suas aprendizagens, que apesar de inicial se mostra positiva. Também Gammons & Inge (2017), num projeto mais ambicioso (num universo de 4000 estudantes), procuraram demonstrar a avaliação de níveis de competência em informação e concluíram que usar a estrutura da ACRL na avaliação melhora a experiência formativa, possibilitando aos estudantes maior retenção de conhecimentos, um envolvimento mais profundo e criando mais oportunidades de interação entre estudantes e formadores.…”
