Acute pulmonary oedema complicating laryngospasm

Abstract: Pulmonary oedema is an uncommon but important complication of laryngeal spasm which in turn occurs more commonly in ENT practice than in most other surgical specialities. A case is reported and the literature reviewed, with particular reference to the proposed pathophysiological mechanism of this phenomenon.
