Acute Meningitis by Streptococcus suis

Abstract: Streptococcus suis is a coccus Gram positive, anaerobic optional. Human infection by this microorganism is a zoonotic disease that usually presents as purulent meningitis. Mortality is low but is common sequelae. A case of meningitis by S. suis secondary to contact with pigs is presented here.
