“…12,41 , where frequency and band width of SPR is not only depending on both size and shape of the metal nanoparticles but also on the dielectric constant characterized the metal itself as well as adjacent medium 47 . Many studies have been reported the potentiality of various cyanobacteria crude extracts for synthesizing silver nanoparticles 15,39,48 . Mahdieh et al .…”

“…14 considered Spirulina Platensis and Nostoc linckia as nanofactors according to presence of many bioactive substances. Usage of microorganisms enables synthesis of silver nanoparticles through acting as a reducing agent as well as functionalizing nanoparticles surface 15 . Consequently, these multifunctional cyanobacteria significantly decrease reaction stages as well as prevent the need of external stabilizing agents.…”

“…Figure 1 shows the UV-Vis spectra of the obtained nanoparticles in aqueous solution. The spherical Ag and Cu NPs exhibit single plasmonic band, whereas the anisotropic NPs show two or more bands because of quadrupole and multipole plasmon excitations [72]. The bimetallic particles have a strong localized surface plasmon resonance peak at 408 nm and 410 nm for the Ag core /Cu shell and Ag/Cu (alloys) , respectively.…”

“…Minimum inhibitory concentration exhibited by silver nanoparticle synthesised using rice paper plant stem (Zeng et al, 2007) and bamboo leaves (Sohail, Liu, & Yao, 2013) were found to be 14.1 and 20 mg L -1 , respectively. Similarly, Terminalia bellirica fruit extract (Anand & Mandal, 2015) and Withania somnifera leaf extract (Raut, Mendhulkar, & Kashid, 2014) synthesized SNPs displayed MIC of 20 mg mL -1 against both E.coli and S. aureus and 1.8 ± 0.20 and 1.2 ± 0.14 mg L -1 respectively, while Paederia foetida mediated leaf extracts (Kumar, Singh, Halder, & Mitra, 2014) showed 5.394 and 4.454 mg L -1 MIC for E.coli and S. aureus, respectively. Overall, the results of this report, pointed out that the silver nanoparticle produced by Z. mauritiana showed excellent antibacterial activity compared to the plant extract.…”
