Activity measurements of the radionuclides 99mTc, 18F and 64Cu for the POLATOM, Poland, in the ongoing comparisons BIPM.RI(II)-K4 series and KCRV update in the corresponding BIPM.RI(II)-K1 comparison

Abstract: Main text In 2016, comparisons of activity measurements of 99mTc, 18F and 64Cu using the Transfer Instrument of the International Reference System (SIRTI) took place at the National Centre for Nuclear Research, Radioisotope Centre (POLATOM, Poland). Ampoules containing about 33 kBq of 99mTc, 28 kBq of 18F and 110 kBq of 64Cu solutions were measured in the SIRTI for about 3, 5 and 1.5 half-lives, respectively. The POLATOM standardized the activity in the ampoules by 4(LS) coincidence measurem… Show more

“…For Tc-99 m, the supplier and receiver measurements were 25.0 mCi and 24.4 mCi (no correction in time), respectively, considering a time difference between them of - 10 min and a typical standard uncertainty (k = 1) of 0.72 % [ 75 ]. Based on the connected approaches of DR and guard band, the consumer risk for the supplier, receiver and reconciled measurements were, respectively, 20.2 % (not conforming to the specification), 6.15 % (not conforming to the specification) and 4.64 % (24.8 mCi–24.9 mCi, considering a standard deviation, conforming to the specification), generating reliable specification limits of 24.6 mCi–25.2 mCi, Fig.…”

“…This remote mode has been used successfully for SIRTI comparisons in 2021 at the PTB (Germany) and in 2022 at the KRISS (Republic of Korea). One comparison report was published [18] and a second produced. The SIRTI has already been linked to the SIR for 18 F, 64 Cu and 99m Tc by carrying out measurements at the BIPM Headquarters in the two systems.…”

The SIRTI has already been linked to the SIR for 18 F, 64 Cu and 99m Tc by carrying out measurements at the BIPM Headquarters in the two systems. In 2019 and 2021-2022, further links to the SIR were measured for 123 I and 153 Sm at the BIPM Headquarters and at the PTB in remote mode, respectively.…”
