Activities of catabolic pathways and alkaloid biogenesis during submerged cultivation ofClaviceps sp. SD-58

Abstract: Alkaloid biogenesis in Claviceps sp. SD-58 was found to be associated with low growth and reduced consumption of sucrose and mannitol. The activities of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and aldolase increased up to 9 d of the fermentation cycle and then declined. A close parallel between the operation of pentose phosphate and glycolytic pathways and tryptophan content was demonstrated. An inverse relation between the operation of citric acid and glyoxylate cycles and the ability of the cells to synthesize alk… Show more

“…Changes in NT-proBNP levels were described in prior studies of sacubitril/valsartan but in different patient populations. [5][6][7][8] The PARADIGM-HF study enrolled ambulatory patients with chronic HFrEF and patients with ADHF were excluded. 9,10 Patients randomized to receive sacubitril/valsartan vs enalapril had a greater reduction in NT-proBNP levels, and 48% vs 26% of patients had a reduction of more than 30% from baseline to 1 month after randomization.…”

“…43 A significant reduction in blood glucose levels with some plant extracts might be due to their antioxidant properties or the hypoglycemic activity of phytochemical constituents. 44,45 An oral glucose tolerance test is a standard procedure that measures the clearance of an oral glucose load from the body or how quickly exogenous glucose can be cleared from the blood and is used in diagnosing diabetes mellitus. 46 It is also used to monitor temporal blood glucose fluctuations in response to an oral glucose challenge.…”

“…Saponins in V. sinaiticum may have reduced blood glucose levels in diabetic mice by activating beta cells, suppressing glucose transfer from the stomach to the small intestine, and inhibiting glucose transport across the small intestine's brush boundary. 44 The presence of flavonoids, saponins, and tannins in V. sinaiticum may prevent the loss of beta cells via one or more of the aforementioned processes because the induction of diabetes mellitus involves the destruction of https://doi.org/10.2147/JEP.S437991…”
