Active phenomena in the circumstellar environment of the Herbig Ae star HD 31648

Abstract: Abstract. We present the results of observations of the Herbig Ae star HD 31648 including high-resolution spectroscopy near the Hα, He  λ 5876 Å and DNa  lines, multi-color photometry and polarimetry. These observations have revealed many features of the observational appearance of HD 31648 similar to those of the "classical" Herbig Ae stars. Among them are spectral manifestations of both the mass loss and the disk accretion onto the star and certain types of line profile variations. The totality of the obse… Show more

“…All kinds of shapes from the classification by Reipurth et al are observed: P Cygni, single-and doublepeaked (see, e.g., Böhm & Catala 1995;Grinin et al 2001;Mora et al 2001;Feigelson et al 2003;Beskrovnaya & Pogodin 2004;Movsessian et al 2008;Grady et al 2011;Montesinos 2009;Mendigutía 2012). Such a vast sample of profile shapes suggests that this line originates in a very complex environment possibly including the accretion disk, disk wind, jet, and magnetosphere.…”
