“…Gerber (1966) increased the efficiency of transmission of viral genome from non-virus producing cells to indicator cells by the use of simian virus 40 (SV40) induced hamster ependymoma cells and African green monkey kidney (AGMK) cells. The tech-nique was also applied to induce RSV production in mixed cultures of mammalian tumor cells and chick embryo cells (Vigier, 1967;Yamaguchi et al, 1967, Koprowski andSvoboda et al, 1967Svoboda et al, , 1968Svoboda and Machala, 1968;Shevliaghyn et al, 1969).
