“…In view of the extremely low yield of LG in traditional solvents and NADESs without CALB, and the considerable yield in NADESs-CALB systems, we proposed that there was a synergistic effect between CALB and NADESs. It is agreement with the previous studies of our study which indicated hydrogen-bonding interaction between NADESs, or more especially anions such as chloride ion and substrates improved CALB activity . Inspired by this, we proposed that anions such as chloride ion enhanced performance of CALB in NADESs.…”

“…In previous studies, LAA were mostly synthesized by organic synthesis, which could cause large amounts of byproducts and environmental problems and can hardly be considered as “green” . Given their extreme advantages in selectivity, efficiency, and sustainability, enzymatic reaction is considered as an alternative of classical organic reaction. Attracting much academic and industrial interests, enzymatic reactions have also been widespread utilized in food processes and biological engineering. , In this context, some efforts have been made in the enzymatic synthesis of LAA in previous studies. , However, as the polar substrates are almost insoluble in nonpolar enzyme-friendly solvents, while polar solvents tend to cause enzyme inactivation, we have to compromise between the high enzyme activity and high solubility of substrate, which are both important to enzymatic synthesis. , Therefore, the development of novel enzyme-friendly green solvents with good substrate solubility has become a key factor in the enzymatic synthesis of LAA …”

“…However, it still remains unclear how CALB was activated in these solvents. Inspired by some previous studies of ionic liquids and NADESs, it is hypothesized herein that the molecular interaction between NADESs and CALB plays a key role in this process. Fluorescence spectroscopy and thermodynamic parameters were adopted to study this hypothesis.…”

“…The construction of NADESs was according to the methods given previously . Different hydrogen bond donors (HBD) and acceptors (HBA) were added into a 100‐mL round‐bottom flask by the molar ratios listed in Supplementary Material Table S1.…”
