Action selection is impaired by unilateral lesions in the rostral thalamic reticular nucleus.

Abstract: The rostral thalamic reticular nucleus (rTRN) exerts the same inhibitory control of thalamocortical transmission from the motor nuclei as the caudal sectors have over sensory nuclei.
