Acquisition and Designing Youth Non-Fiction Books through School Literacy Programs

Abstract

It is important to publish the results of student writing obtained through the School Literacy Program. The output produced through writing literacy can be in the form of fiction or non-fiction, where non-fiction texts are usually in the form of journals. Management of nonfiction manuscripts can be maximized by working with publishers to produce, design, and publish student manuscripts. Publishing studies programs serve as a bridge between schools and industry. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with the stages of acquisition of manuscripts, designs and publications. This research produced 10 criteria that can be applied in acquiring manuscripts in school literacy programs. These criteria serve as standards that can be used to assess the feasibility of student manuscripts. This study concludes that student manuscripts have considerable potential to be developed and acquired by publishers in Indonesia
