Abstract:Digital communication systems use complex modulation schemes that require powerful signal-processing techniques to correct channel distortions and to minimize bit error rates. In this paper, acousto-optic processors are used, in conjunction with adaptive digital equalizers, to reduce the bit error rate of a microwave digital radio receiver. The acousto-optic processor implements an inverse channel filter that is rapidly adaptable to time varying distortions. A specific architecture is identified and a laborato… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
