Acoustic cues to tonal contrasts in Mandarin: Implications for cochlear implants

Abstract: The present study systematically manipulated three acoustic cues-fundamental frequency ͑f0͒, amplitude envelope, and duration-to investigate their contributions to tonal contrasts in Mandarin.
