Acknowledgement and compensation: a study of graphic design national awards

Abstract

Methods for performance assessment criteria and the compensationpolicyaremeanstorecognizeandstrengthenbonds. Nationaldesignawardsassessprofessionalperformanceandcanbe understoodastheoutcomesofmakinganefforttoachieveexcellence. Itinvestigateshowtheassessmentofemployeeperformanceinthe editorialareaislinkedtothesystemsofacknowledgementingraphic design awards. The method comprises bibliographic review, questionnaireandexploratoryqualitativeanalysis.Theresultsindicate that,inadditiontoprofessionalacknowledgement,theawardsenable reflections on "value" in editorial design, and may raise discussions about design, market, innovation, technology, semantics, among others.
