Acid Dissociation Constants of Some Novel Isatin Thiosemicarbazone Derivatives

Abstract: The acid dissociation constants (pK a ) of five novel biologically active isatin thiosemicarbazone derivatives were determined by a UV-visible spectrophotometric technique at (25 ( 0.1) °C. The deprotonations for all studied molecules were found to occur at the substituted R-amino group, whereas the protonation seems to take place at the oxo group of the five-membered ring.
