Acid and Carbonate Leaching of North Jackpile Ore

Abstract: Laboratory investigation of a composited drill core sample from the North Jackpile ore body near Grsuits, New Mexico, revealed that the ore is readily amenable to acid leaching and ion exchange. Good settling rates were obtained on neutral and acid leached pulps. An oxidant was beneficial to leaching. Carbonate leaching was also effective either with a chemical oxidant or following a preliminary roast. Filtration of carbonate leached pulps was difficult. /->~Q^P-^ r?
