Accurate stress analysis of laminated composite and sandwich plates

Abstract: This article is devoted to derive the analytical solution for flexural behavior of general symmetric and anti-symmetric cross-ply laminated composite and sandwich plates subjected to transverse mechanical load using the recently developed trigonometric zigzag theory. The inter-laminar continuity conditions of transverse shear stresses at the layer interfaces of the plate are enforced which is an essential condition for any zigzag model. The governing equations of equilibrium of the boundary value problem deriv… Show more

“…The importance of accurate static and dynamic analysis has enhanced with the large scale demand of such hybrid panels. It is also evident that a higher order shear deformation model can produce results close to the exact solutions from the research works 4954 organized for improving the accuracy of the solutions which is directly the measure of accurate response. It is observed after exploring the literature that the response of smart composite plates with PFRC actuator are derived using the kinematics of FSDT and HSDT’s with higher number of field variables.…”
