Accurate Extraction of Cableways Based on the LS-PCA Combination Analysis Method

Abstract: In order to maintain a ski resort efficiently, regular inspections of the cableways are essential. However, there are some difficulties in discovering and observing the cable car cableways in the ski resort. This paper proposes a high-precision segmentation and extraction method based on the 3D laser point cloud data collected by airborne lidar to address these problems. In this method, first, an elevation filtering algorithm is used to remove ground points and low-height vegetation, followed by preliminary se… Show more

“…[25] LiDAR measures the angle and distance of reflection points by emitting a large number of laser pulses per second. [26] According to the different carrying platforms, LiDAR can be further divided into airborne laser scanning (ALS), [27,28] mobile laser scanning (MLS), [29,30] and terrestrial laser scanning (TLS). [31] Point clouds for SAR are typically produced using single-channel radargrammetric SAR, [32] multi-channel interferometric SAR, [33] multichannel tomographic SAR, [34] or persistent scatterer interferometry (PSI) using spaceborne or aerial platforms.…”
