“…Furthermore, HLA-G was claimed to be a predictor for pregnancy and a promising noninvasive tool for embryo selection (58). However, further studies combining single-embryo culture and single-embryo transfer with a highly sensitive HLA-G immunodetection technique in highly standardized conditions are needed to determine the true value of soluble HLA-G measurement in embryo culture medium (62).…”

“…In a recent meta-analysis it was concluded that the presence of sHLA-G in the supernatants of cultured embryos is moderately helpful to predict the ability to achieve pregnancy in women undergoing IVF treatment [34]. Additionally they suggested it to be more beneficial if the embryos are of good quality.…”

“…Pyruvate, lactate, glucose, and amino acids in the embryo culture medium have all been reported to correlate with embryo development and implantation potential (see [15,16] for review). Global assessment of the embryo culture media proteome [17] as well as specific proteins such as soluble human leukocyte antigen-G (sHLA-G) [18,19] have also been studied as predictors of embryo viability.…”
