Abstract: Background: Nasopharyngeal sampling for nucleic acid amplification testing (NAAT) is the current standard diagnostic test for of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, the NAAT technique is lengthy and nasopharyngeal sampling requires trained personnel.
