Accessing the spoken word

Abstract: Spoken word audio collections cover many domains, including radio and television broadcasts, oral narratives, governmental proceedings, lectures, and telephone conversations. The collection, access and preservation of such data is stimulated by political, economic, cultural and educational needs.
