ACCERBATIN, a small molecule at the intersection of auxin and reactive oxygen species homeostasis with herbicidal properties

Abstract: ACCERBATIN is an ethylene-mimicking small molecule that affects auxin homeostasis and ROS accumulation in etiolated seedlings. In light-grown plants, it exhibits auxin-like herbicidal properties.

“…Transgenic calli were stained with NBT for superoxide activity analysis and with DAB for H 2 O 2 concentration detection in accordance with the methods of Hu et al . 56 . For NBT staining, 2 mM NBT (Sigma, Germany) solution was prepared in 20 mM phosphate buffer (pH 7.0).…”

“…The limit of detection was in the range of 0.8 -8.0 fmol on the column, whereas the limit of quantification was in the range of 2 -20 fmol on column depending on the phytohormone. Ethylene emanation was measured by laser photo-acoustics [98].…”
