“…Brazil is the largest coconut producer in South America (FAO, 2005) and falls within the likely native home of A. guerreronis . However, to date, little is known about the acarine fauna of coconut palms in that country, in particular the predatory mites associated with A. guerreronis (Santana & Flechtmann, 1998; Gondim & Moraes, 2001; Arruda Filho, 2002; Navia & Flechtman, 2002). The present work is part of a multi-institutional project with the broad objective of developing a biological control program against A. guerreronis in Africa and elsewhere.…”
